Dr. Nicole
M. Jane was born and raised in Michigan. She
received her undergraduate degree in biology
from the University of Iowa in 1993. In 1998,
Dr. Jane received her Doctor of Dental Surgery
degree (DDS) from the University of Michigan,
graduating in the top 5 percent of her dental
school class.
In the three years following dental
school, Dr. Jane spent time in the U.S. Navy
as a general dentist. Her first year was spent
in

Norfolk, Va., where she treated sailors in a
clinic while she received training in an Advanced
Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program.
The following two years were spent aboard the
USS Carter Hall (LSD-50), where Dr. Jane was
the ship’s Dental Officer. While in the
Navy, Dr. Jane traveled throughout the United
States, the Caribbean, Central and South America,
Western Africa and the Mediterranean. Dr. Jane
was responsible for the treatment of 3,000 military
personnel, U.S. embassy personnel and their
families and non-government aid workers. Dr.
Jane was also responsible for dental care during
Humanitarian Assistance operations in host nations.
She achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander
prior to the completion of her military service.
In 2001, Dr. Jane began her orthodontic
studies at the University of Michigan. As part
of her residency, she was involved in the treatment
of patients with cleft lip and palate and patients
requiring orthognathic surgery. She received
a Master of Science degree in 2004 for certification
in Orthodontia and truly enjoys creating beautiful
smiles.
Dr. Jane and her husband,
Kevin, enjoy time with their family and traveling.
She also enjoys gymnastics, skiing, exercising
and Big Ten sports.
